Sitting pretty: Dozens of seating options make up DTC brand’s new introductions

NEW YORK — Seating is the focus of e-commerce furniture brand Industry West’s latest group of product introductions, which includes more than a dozen each of sofas and lounge and dining chairs.

“Seating has always been a core part of Industry West’s product mix, and so it made complete sense to add these new items to the catalog,” said Jordan England, Industry West’s co-founder.

Many items in the new collection are designed in collaboration with United Strangers and New Zealand furniture designer Logan Komorowski, including the orange boucle Malibu sofa with a stainless-steel base; the Santa Barbara chair, which features stainless steel, black nylon straps and leather cushions; and the Mister chair, a combination of a smoky brown wood frame and an Osaka white fabric cushion.

“The new pieces we’ve added to our catalog are reflective of a recent movement we’re seeing of customers wanting to push outside of their comfort zone,” said England.

“Post-COVID has inspired designers to turn away from homogeneous design and instead blend diverse colors and materials,” he added. “So much of what we’ve added to the catalog is inspired by travel and moving outside of your comfort zone. The leathers and woods of the products offer something familiar but do it in a way that leaves us wanting to satisfy our wanderlust.”

Industry West, which began selling direct to consumers in 2011, has operated a showroom in New York’s Soho neighborhood since 2019, while also providing a curated selection of furniture and accessories online and through its print catalog.
