It has long been a dream of Kian Amini to work for the furniture business his father founded, and shortly after graduating from the prestigious American University of Paris in 2019, he got his chance.
His father, Michael Amini, initially sent him to AICO’s sprawling facility in Vietnam to learn about the company’s manufacturing process. But less than a year after moving there, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted production, and he moved back to Southern California, where he continues to work out of the corporate office in Pico Rivera, Calif.
Already an experienced international traveler, the tech-savvy Kian Amini speaks six languages — including Azerbaijani, Chinese and Farsi — and is the driving force behind a number of recent technology upgrades. The advancements are aimed at improving service to e-commerce and traditional retail customers.
