Bobby Ferguson was attending college in 2014 when his parents decided to close their furniture store, Create-A-Room, where he had worked as a teenager. Needing some extra cash, he agreed to help with the going-out-of-business sale.
The store’s employees liked working with him, so they persuaded him to start his own furniture store. Thus, Ferguson’s House of Furniture was born with eight employees in a single location. Today, there are more than 30 employees at two locations in Wintersville and St. Clairsville, Ohio, and Ferguson says he is not done expanding.
He believes his emphasis on delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring the well-being of his employees has created a culture that sets the company apart in the furniture industry and will help drive future growth.
