MONTREAL — Primo International, a Canadian importer of leather and fabric upholstery, bedding, home furnishings and décor, just launched a licensed Stearns & Foster furniture collection.

The collection will include approximately 120 pieces with motion, stationary and sleeper sofas upholstered in fabric and leather, occasional pieces, dining room and bedroom furniture and coordinated area rugs to eventually be a part of the collection.

In production now, the collection is expected to ship in the fourth quarter of this year.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Primo to extend the quality, craftsmanship and comfort Stearns & Foster is known for into other parts of the home,” said Steve Rusing, president of sales for Tempur Sealy, the parent company of Stearns & Foster.

The company expects strong brand recognition of Stearns & Foster by both retailers and consumers will provide an opportunity for the expansion into a whole home multi-category line.

Primo will offer an in-stock program and is driving sales to both larger and small to medium-sized retailers.

The Stearns & Foster collection pricing will range from about $1,999 to $2,499 for top-grain leather sofas and between $799 to $1,299 for dining room tables.

Similar to its mattresses, the Stearns & Foster furniture line will include hang tags signed by the last person to work on and inspect the product before it’s shipped. Upholstery pieces will include a Stearns & Foster brand badge sewn into a seam, and the case goods drawers will include a badge plate as well.
